Good Games?
Hi, i been playing Guild Wars for 1 year already and beaten all games. My sister is off to college and she'll need online courses. I only have 1 connection so I probably won't be on GW like once a week or longer. I need a great OFFLINE RPG game for PC. I don't care about the cost but can some of yall name of offline ones? (RPG's ONLY)
It HAS to be offline.
I also heard oblivion is good.
So yall got any?

oblivion is good, untill you realise youll be spending the next 24 hours of playtime going through portals, and killing baddies that own you in everyway shape and form. Unless you dont follow the storyline in which case going into random caves and dungeons is basicly asking to be killed.
Not really the funnest of things.

I didn't touch the difficulty setting and I breezed through Oblivion without touching any potions AT ALL. Don't know why you're having a hard time. In regard to Oblivion itself, it's got nice graphics and a hell of a lot to do side-quest and random adventuring wise, but tbh the main quest was disappointing. It's a shame, I don't think the start was designed in a way that is good for replayability. I recommend it, but there are other games I'd look to.
Offline RPG's... My vote goes to Neverwinter Nights (the original campaign and the 2 expansions, Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark). They have a good gameplay system (nice replayability), and great storylines. Graphics suck, but hey, it was 2002 . I never played Neverwinter Nights 2 because Bioware loaned the NWN stuff to Obsidian and they screwed up bigtime; that's what I heard anyway. Besides, I lags like hell unless you've got a very very good PC.
Baldur's Gate (all of them) are also very good.
PS: Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark is probably the best PC game I have played in my entire life. There are links to the original campaign, so you won't fully enjoy it unless you've played through that first.
EDIT: Forgot Icewind Dale. It's basically the same UI and game engine or whatever you call it as Baldur's Gate but it's obviously got a different story and has some distinct differences (mainly you create the entire party, good or bad depending on how you look at it).
I've played Fable: The Lost Chapters, but I've found you're forced into pure melee or melee with magic support. Archery is clunky and after about half an hour on playing a full magic char it'd take about 20 seconds to burn though all my magic (about 1 fights length) but it too 8 ENTIRE MINUTES to regen. God knows how long I'd have to wait once I got further in.
Played both Dungeon Siege games a few years ago, they were decent, though the second (the expansion anyway) was too short for my liking. It's a good game but I'd say NWN HotU > Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/Rest of NWN (just by a teeny weeny bit >> Dungeon Siege. Btw, when I say NWN, I don't mean NWN 2. It's bad.

QFT. But graphics are better than NwN 2 (more realistic, less plastic), requirements are a joke, as even my laptop can run it smoothly on max details and full resolution, in multiplayer 16 players vs 16 players. Also, spell effects are great.
Neverwinter Nights 2 sucks. Totally.
Oblivion is easy, but extremely addictive. You must have a good pc, though.
And of course D2.

oblivion is great...my main problem iwith it is there is not much interactivity with the environment, but the world is sublime, and dungeon "raids" are cool.
Other offline would be with diablo 2 or dungeon siege(imo the 2nd was the best) but if you need to choose between the 2, take dungeon siege.

Oblivion's gameplay out of the box becomes boring quickly because the mobs are all your level. It makes you breeze through game so it just feels like another brainless grind, and it's difficult to get immersed into the story and gameplay when you can own things so easily. I didn't play Oblivion until a long time after its release, but I was about to get rid of it once I played through on one character. Then, I found about the overhaul/item mods (Oscuro's is one). Those mods made it an entirely new game which in my opinion was much more fun due to the better gameplay The downside is the mods aren't officially supported and are prone to frequent crashes especially when using several in conjunction.

WHAT THE RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO
STOP SUGGESTING BAD GAMES
GOOD GAMES LIST: Baldur's Gate 1/2, Planescape: Torment (pretty wordy), Fallout 1/2, Arcanum
oblivion is horrible with no dialogue or proper characterisation, and some of the stupidest voice acting and voice assignment ever
edit: oh yeah and icewind dale, i enjoyed that.
edit2: chrono trigger

Planescape, Baldurs Gate 2, and Neverwinter Nights are excellent games, and they can be gotten pretty cheaply.
I'd also suggest Wizardry 8.
And if you're looking for something a little faster paced, there's always Diablo 2. It's a not a RPG per say, but it's freaking awesome.
Speaking of Baldur's Gate... anyone ever use that trick where you could design a full party?
